Dr. Rajasekara Murthy

Emeritus Scientist, Environment and Climate Change Canada

These scientific exchange programs are initiated by the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences (KarRC RAS) informally under the BRICS Umbrella. Dr. Rajasekara Murthy, Emeritus Scientist, Environment and Climate Change Canada, with his long term scientific association with the Russian Academy of Sciences Institutions, in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Petrozavodsk and Dr. Nikolay Filatov, Former Director of Karealian Water Research Institute and Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Sciences, have facilitated the planning of these conferences.

Drs. Murthy and Filatov have initiated several academic and scientific programs in the past with Indian Institute of Science, Karnataka Environment Research Foundation, National Institute of Engineering, Mysore, Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM) in Kerala, Karunya University in Coimbatore, and last year in VTU.

This international conference is a BRICS initiative to bring together researchers, innovators, experts, and practitioners to explore advanced technologies and strategies for addressing climate change challenges. The event focuses on how smart technological solutions – including digital tools, data-driven systems, IoT, and adaptive infrastructure – can help societies anticipate, adapt to, and mitigate climate effects while promoting environmental sustainability and resilience. It serves as a platform for sharing research findings, innovative applications, and best practices through Keynote Lectures, Scientific sessions, and presentations, fostering interdisciplinary exchange and global cooperation toward climate-smart solutions and sustainable environmental stewardship.
